Theatre Säijen Leimut presents: A JOURNEY TO THE METAVERSE

A hilarious adventure play in the big hall of the Saarenkylä Youth Club House on Saturday 6.9. at 15.00. The play lasts about 30 minutes. Free admission!

After the performance, a Young Culture TALKS panel discussion organised by theatre young people on the theme of theatre & empowerment.

Journey to the Met is a humorous, fast-paced and absurdly topical adventure play in which a faulty banana box ordered from the Met for one cent leads brothers Tero and Jyrk on a madcap rescue mission. In the depths of the cheap goods world, they encounter strange phenomena and even stranger companies, with sometimes confusingly small aims but big effects.

“We have already defeated our worst rival, Fish. But now it seems that our new worst competitor, Mamazon, has increased its turnover by 0.2%. What are we going to do about it?”

The play has been produced by Leimut, a theatre group of continuing amateurs of Teatteri Säije, in spring 2025 and has premiered as part of the annual spring performance of Teatteri Säije on 9.5.2025.The script was written by the group’s director Iisa Mäkipaaso based on the material produced by the group. The play’s props and graphic materials were designed and produced by Topi Tuomikoski.
