Open Day at Korundi

12.09.2026 | 11:00 | Rovaniemi Art Museum (Lapinkävijäntie 4) | Free of charge | All ages | Accessible

Open Day at Korund on Saturday 12 September 2026, 11.00–18.00!

Korundi is holding an open day on Saturday 12 September 2026 to mark Rovaniemi Week. Admission to the exhibitions is free. There will also be other activities on offer throughout the day.

The Rovaniemi Art Museum is currently hosting two exhibitions of contemporary art, brimming with stories and perspectives from the North. In Mia Hamari’s exhibition ‘Sanctuary of Dreams’, wooden and ceramic figures take centre stage. Hamari is a sculptor who lives and works in Simo; in her dreamlike works, the past and the present, reality and fiction, are interwoven.

The ‘Guests of Honour’ exhibition celebrates the Rovaniemi Art Museum’s 40th anniversary. The exhibition features a selection of favourites from both the public and the museum staff, drawn from the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation’s collection. It features works by leading Finnish artists from the 1980s to the present day. This exhibition is not to be missed!

Also on display is Johanna Ruotsalainen’s ‘Pasifistinen balladi’ – a media installation that combines video footage and texts by Timo K. Mukka to form a topical whole. The work is on display in the ground-floor exhibition hall of the Rovaniemi Art Museum during the museum’s opening hours throughout Rovaniemi Week, Tuesday to Sunday, 11.00–18.00.

Exhibitions at the Art Museum are open from 11.00 to 18.00.

Come and enjoy yourselves with the whole family!
