During the Rovaniemi Night of the Arts in September, you will have a unique opportunity to experience the Room of Care and Healing. The performance will take place only five times in the decommissioned ward of the Muurola Psychiatric Hospital from 6 September to 8 September 2024, at 18:00 and 23:00.
The Room of Care and Healing is an immersive performance that immerses the audience in the themes of care and healing. What is caring? What does healing, or better still, what does it really mean?
In the Room of Care and Healing, the public will be able to sense the different elements of care and healing. The work is based on the experiences and memories of clients and staff in psychiatric hospitals.
The Room of Care and Healing is a multi-sensory and multi-artistic experience, where viewers can immerse themselves in the subject in a personal and profound way. The audience becomes part of the work and can move around the different rooms of the ward. Viewers are also given the opportunity to make their own choices and thus contribute to their own and the shared experience of being a viewer. The work has been produced by a multidisciplinary team in co-production with Piste Collective.
