Is there a place in Rovaniemi where you can relax in the twilight, perhaps contemplating the endlessness of space or listening to the sounds of your surroundings? Or do you get nervous when the darkness descends on our city, longing to be inside in the electric light? What do you think about twilight right now, as the long, bright nights of summer shorten into autumnal ones, towards the long, dark nights of winter?
Take part in a community art project and come to the riverbank to feel the twilight of Rovaniemi on the Night of the Arts. During the encounters organised by artist and light designer Riikka Vuorenmaa, we will walk quietly along the banks of the Arktikum, feel the twilight with different senses and discuss our own relationship to twilight and darkness. If you wish, you can give permission to record your speech for the next steps of the art project.
During the Rovaniemi Night of the Arts, four encounters will be organised for a few participants at a time. The encounters are free of charge, last about 40 minutes and include a small snack.
Starting times on the Night of the Arts at 22.30, 23.30, 00.30 and 01.30.
The meeting point is accessible. The meeting will take place along the riverbank, and the route can be chosen according to the specific needs indicated at the time of registration.
